The Domaine de Ceyrac in bygone days…

The Domaine de Ceyrac (from the name of the Roman Serius, who settled in the region 2000 years ago) is an authentic Cevennes hamlet that in the 18th century had farm buildings, wine cellars, a forge and dwellings, as well as a priory and a chapel. About thirty people lived and worked here until the 19th century. As time passed, the inhabitants slowly left and the hamlet suffered the patina of time, the rain, the sun and the wind.

In 2008, a local couple of entrepreneurs fell in love with this little hamlet hidden in its unspoiled, natural setting. Marie-Claude and Michel Ruas wished to preserve its remarkable heritage and exceptional biodiversity and, at the same time, boost its past economic activity from a sustainable development perspective. They have been patiently restoring and reviving this little corner of paradise since 2010.

Today it is a thriving eco-hamlet organized on three sustainable development fronts:

Luxury gîtes

Holiday-makers and professionals who wish to discover the Cevennes in the South of France can take advantage of our six luxury gîtes (mansion, villa, house, apartments), reception halls, fitness/wellbeing centre, leisure areas, swimming pools and discovery trails in a haven of peace in the heart of nature.

Partridge farm

Agricultural activity

The goal is to ecologically harmonize the 880 hectares of the property as well as restructure, protect and manage the surrounding biodiversity: sustainable production of hay and alfalfa, wine growing, natural partridge farming, natural grazing for sheep and naturally filled ponds to prevent fires.

Seminar room with projector

Economic activity

The property is boosted economically by the organization of professional seminars, as well as being the gathering place of different companies within the group (including a technical engineering unit specializing in infrastructure and environmental and sustainable land management).
